Hallman Resigns As Swimming & Diving Coach

University of La Verne Director of Athletics Julie Kline has announced the resignation of John Hallman from his post as Head Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Coach.

Hallman spent 14 seasons at La Verne and has been the program's only head coach since its inception.  He began his tenure as head coach in 1997 with both swim programs beginning competition a year later in 1998.

"We appreciate Coach Hallman's service to the La Verne Swimming and Diving programs over the past 14 years, and we wish him the absolute best in the future," said Kline.   "At this time we are committed to a strong and competitive program and we look forward to new leadership to bring forth a strong vision and direction to the program."

Kline said a search for a new head coach will begin within the next two to three weeks.

The University of La Verne is a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and fields 18 teams (nine men's and nine women's).   The athletic program is dedicated to developing scholar-athletes who demonstrate a commitment to academic and athletic success.
