The duo of Austin Napolitano and Trevor Woodland represent the University of La Verne on a 2010-11 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Men's Basketball Team as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Napolitano earned First Team All-Conference honors while Woodland garnered a Second Team All-League selection. The two Damien High alums each earn their first All-SCIAC honor.
A junior forward from San Dimas, Napolitano averaged 12.4 points and a team-leading 6.7 rebounds per game to become the first Leopard in five seasons to land a spot on the First Team. In SCIAC play, he ranked seventh among conference leaders in scoring and was fourth in rebounding.
Additionally Napolitano ranked fourth in the league in free throw percentage at .744. he led La Verne in either scoring or rebounding in 15 games and registered five double-doubles on the season. He had a pair of 20-point performances this year including a season-high 25 points against West Coast Baptist (Dec. 11) and a 23-point effort versus Caltech (Jan. 15).
Woodland led the Leopards in scoring with a 13.4 points per game average in 2010-11. He was among the SCIAC leaders in scoring, three-point field goals (54) and three-point field goal percentage (.367).
The junior guard from Covina led the Leos in scoring on 11 occasions this season and recorded four 20-point games, including a season-high 26 points against Chapman (Dec. 8) and Redlands (Jan. 19). Woodland tallied a career-high seven triples against West Coast Baptist on November 29.
La Verne finished 13-13 overall and placed third in the SCIAC standings with an 8-6 mark to earn a berth into the SCIAC Postseason Tournament.
