The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced that six members of the University of La Verne football squad earned inclusion on the 2011-12 SCIAC Football All-Academic Team, which includes 40 members from the eight schools that sponsor football.
The Leopard honorees for this season include the following:
- Kyle Appleford (Offensive Lineman) SR, Liberal Studies
- Thomas Arguello (Quarterback) SR, Criminology
- Oscar Bauman (Tight End) JR, Political Science
- Donald Mull (Defensive Back) JR, Movement & Sports Science
- Michael Simon (Offensive Lineman) SO, Business Administration
- Alexander Stuart (Defensive Lineman) JR, Chemistry
To be eligible for recognition on the SCIAC All-Academic team, a football player must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or better, completed one full academic year at his current institution, and have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
